About Blinq
We’re the world’s leading media measurement brand, carrying out studies across TV, digital and social media since 2017 to better understand how people engage with the content they’re exposed to.
Our TV studies are looking to understand how people watch TV at home and what they find entertaining. This kind of research helps the TV industry make TV a better experience for us all.
About my Blinq Box
The Blinq Box is the brains of our measurement study. It is connected to your TV and the webcam to process the information about what, and how, you are watching certain content.
It is incredibly smart! It essentially collects all of the facial markers that are captured from the webcam while you are watching content and turns them into a specific coded language. It sends us that code so we can map trends and track data on audience interactions specific to certain types of content, and it also deletes that data from the device as soon as it’s sent. So it’s not only super smart, it’s incredibly privacy safe.
The Blinq Box’s job is to help us at HQ better understand how global audiences interact with TV, movies, streaming content and more. That information tells the media owners what works, doesn’t work, what people like and what they don’t. So it’ll mean a better quality of media for all of us for years and years to come.
Once the setup is complete, you shouldn't ever have to worry about the Blinq Box again. If the green light on the webcam is on, and as long as it has power it will be running properly but you can always feel free to switch back to the HDMI channel you’ve selected to see if it’s happy.
If the green light is not showing on your webcam, please check that the power is still on and if so, it may need a reboot. That's when it's best to reach out to theteam@blinqrewards.com
You can, but you don’t gotta. Otherwise just turn your TV off when you’re not watching it and the Blinq Box will come out of standby mode the next time your TV is switched on.
The super smart Blinq App will always need to be running, otherwise you won’t be earning rewards.
What happens while I’m watching TV?
The Blinq Box is just used to capture data, and isn’t able to be used for any other purpose. So once it is setup all you have to do is switch over to your normal TV channels and watch TV as you normally would. It won’t get in the way and will run quietly in the background.
They sure can - but remember, only one of you can earn rewards. Although you should definitely share the treats together, because Mum always said it’s more fun when you share.
Part of the Blinq Box smarts is that it has something called automated content recognition (sounds fancy, right?) and what that does is recognise things called audio fingerprints and can recognise what’s being played on your telly. Pretty cool, huh?

Rewards
It couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is make sure your Blinq Box is switched and running properly, then watch your favourite TV channels and shows for at least 30 minutes once a week. You’ll need to make sure someone is in the room and visible to the webcam during that time, and the Blinq Box will do the rest to make sure your time is recorded and goes towards your rewards total.
Your first reward for setting up your Blinq Box will be sent to you within 1 business day of completing your setup. Then your rewards for participating in the study are sent via email at the end of each month and can be redeemed for gift cards, paypal or prepaid visa/mastercard cards using Tremendous. Check out their website to find out how you can use your rewards.
You could earn up to £485* for a full 12 months of being part of the Blinq family. This will depend on when you join and whether you participate in any bonus activities that come up during the year.
*Total rewards are based on how many months you are active in our study, and if you choose to do any other activities to earn more.
Unfortunately only one of you can earn rewards. But you can definitely share the treats together, there will be plenty to go around.
Rewards are sent to the email address you signed up with, so please check both your inbox and junk / spam folders at the end of each month.
If you still have not received your reward, please email us at theteam@blinqrewards.com and our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
